Dance

One in a series of 13 works entitled “Tradition”, based on my own family experiences, these drawings manifest an intergenerational focus on how families carry out Jewish traditions at home or in the synagogue. In 1997, soon after moving to Atlanta, the William Breman Jewish Home commissioned me to create illustration drawings to express Jewish holidays and life cycle events with incorporating an intergenerational theme. Dance uses memories of our daughter’s wedding where the traditional Hora dance melody is played while bride and groom are hoisted up on chairs, with relatives and friends joining in with much joy.
