Like Henri Matisse, I love to draw with my scissors, to cut directly into paper, photographs, ephemera or fabric, without first using drawn lines. Instead I let the scissors become an extension of my fingers to create the shapes, which like a puzzle, come together for cutout compositions that either tell stories or become more dreamlike abstract works.
