The Stop Series, shown in 3 WCAGA Art+Activism exhibitions in metro Atlanta including 2Rules Gallery (Marietta), Mammal Gallery (Atlanta), Shambhala Center (Decatur), the Jewish Cultural Center in Chattanooga, TN and the AGJA show at the Sherwin Miller Museum of Jewish Art in Tulsa, OK was also on loan in the conference meeting room at the Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, GA. The work raises awareness about the Sex Trafficking taking place in Metro Atlanta and beyond, where the average age of girls, and boys too, being trafficked is 12 years old. Found vintage 45 speed phonograph records conjure up strong messages on what our community needs to do to “stop” sex trafficking which continues year round, seven days a week, the reason all 7 framed works need to be seen as one installation, for there is no Sabbath or day of rest.
Mixed media: vinyl records, photograph cutouts, red matte board. Seven framed works, 9″ x 9″ each
